Welcome to the Boatmeister blog

We hope you enjoy the show.

The Conrads in 1957

That's me at six years pretending to carry water for a photo shoot for the Rock Island Argus in our back yard.

Remember 1974?

Cindy and our Love Bug (which later was manufactured under the trademark "Scamp").

Just a few recent photos. There's more!

Vermilion River

May 2008, Vermilion River, just downstream from Table Rock in a NRS raft, I didn't go this particular run, and was on shore just to the right of that tree.

A little known fact: Eleanor's Rock.

The Flambeau

Standing waves.
Hint: learn how to spell "wear".

Hint: if you run 33 degree water, where a wetsuit. Or, for the pocket poor like me, freeze in your rainsuit.

We are getting ready for high water, April 2008, on the South Fork of the Flambeau River.

This is a friend's 1993 Perception Piroutte S. It now has sanded hip pads and is ready for slalom racing.

This is my 12' Dagger Blackwater.

This is Dylan. He helped weld the Crashed Pyranha Burn.

Welcome to Boatmeister

Life was never easy...I was born a poor canoe person. It actually all started at YMCA Camp on the Mississippi River. You paddled for an hour against the current...for a net gain of a foot. Once you got to the up-river buoy, you could turn the canoe downstream and aimed for the dock. If you missed the dock, next stop was the YWCA camp.

That was fun, and is what life was like back then. As kids, you were lucky to have two sticks to rub together for a toy.

Now look at my toys!
